Armenia stunning landscapes include the
majestic Mount Aragats, an isolated four - peaked volcan massif that along with
Ararat, it is considered by Armenians a sacred mountain, the Lake Sevan, one of
the largest freshwater high – altitude lakes in Eurasia, situated in
Gegharkunik Province, at an altitude of 1.900 metres and the lush forests of
Dilijan National Park,located in the
north – eastern Tavush Province, well known for its rich biodiversity,
medicinal mineral water springs, natural and cultural monuments and a very
extensive network of hiking trails, ideal for exploring the territory.
For adventurous, Armenia offers several outdoor activities all around its territory such as hiking, climbing and also skiing on routes and slopes suitable for all levels.
Food lovers can discover Armenian cuisine, known for its hearty flavours, fresh ingredients, herbs, spices, cheeses and grilled meats, a highlight is the popular lavash, a traditional bread often served before a meal, baked in a tonir over and recognized by UNESCO, expcetional are the wines with roots in one of the oldest winemaking traditions in the world.
