Egypt | “Unrivalled Diversity”, Campaign with Several Initiatives to Elevate itself as the Most Diverse Tourist Destination in the World

 

Egypt, country spanning on the northest corner of Africa and the Sinai Peninsula in the southwest corner of Asia, cradle of an ancient civilization dates the time of the iconic pharaohs boasting millennia - old momunents sit along the fertile Nile River Valley and numerous, emblematic landmarks scattered all around its territory, launched a strategic campaign with several initiatives under the slogan “Unrivalled diversity” to elevate itself as the most diverse tourist destination in the world.

In line with this strategy, the North African country is making efforts to transform tourism assets and potential into products than can be marketed and incorporated into tour operators and travel agencies programs continuing the positive momentum of 2024 with notable performances and achievements in terms of incoming tourism.

Among the main initiatives is the inauguration of the the Grand Museum of Egypt also known as the Giza Museum, an archaeological located about 2.0 kilometres from the iconic Giza pyramid complex that will host over 100.000 artifacts from ancient Egyptian civilization, including the complete Tutankhamun collection next to many pieces will be displayed for the first time.

This museum has been in a phased opening phase since October 2024, partially open while work is still being done, and it is one of the largest museums in the world dedicated to a single civilization.

The commitment to preserve the cultural and historical of Egypt is also among the main measures of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, as in development of the country’s archaeological potential and its sustainability resources.

In terms of sustainability, the ministry’s statement indicates that 41% of hotels are already implementing sustainability practices and that 30% of dive centres re already operating in accordance with Green Fins certification.

In addition solar energy solutions have been installed at the Giza Plateau Visitor Centre, Mohamed Aly Palace in Manial which is also aimed at providing a more organized and eco - friendly experience for visitors, the Sharm El Sheikh Museum, relevant exhibition presenting the history of Egypt from the ancient ages and Royal Jewelry Museum in Alexandria hosted in the former palace of Princess Fatma Al - Zahra containing an inestimable collection of jewels of the Muhammad Ali Dynasty.

The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities is also dedicated to developing the skills of its staff and employees in the tourism and antique sector and also an e - learning service for tourism service providers will be launched.

Egypt in terms of wellness and health tourism boasts a luxury offer on the Red Sea and furthermore unusual options for international visitors such as the Siwa Oasis situated between the Qattara Depression and the Great Sand Sea in the Western Desert, 50 kilometres est of the Egypt - Libya border, with more than 200 springs, Bahariya, beautiful oasis in the Western Desert of Egypt, approximately 370 kilometres away from Cairo.

Other highlights to enhance the diverse offer are  Kharga, the southernmost of Egypt’s five western oasis about 200 kilometres to the west of the Nile Valley, known for its sulfur – rich waters and Aswan, iconic city on the Nile River, with Kato Doo Wellness and The Zen Wellness Resort complexes.
