IHCL, The Indian Hotels Company Limited, part of Tata Group famed hospitality firm based in Mumbai, India with a long history since 1902, year of its foundation managing a large portfolio of hotels, resorts, Spas, catering services and jungle safaris revelead plans to launch a new hotel in Mandvi, Gujarat, beach town in the Kachchh district in the Indian state of Gujarat, captivating centre which was once a major port of the region and summer retreat for Maharao of the Cutch State, a well known for a 400 - year - old shipbuilding industry & craftman and its old city which was enclosed in the Mandvi Fort walls with remains of the fortress can still be seen.
Mandvi is a very captivating destination, very popular for its serene and peaceful, sunny beaches, vibrant atmosphere and several historical landmarks such as Jama Masjid, Kajivali Mosque, Lakshminarayan Temple, Rameshwar Temple, Sundarwar Temple and the Vijay Vilas Palace, all attractions that invite the visitors to discover and enjoy the rich heritage of this Indian land.
The future hotel, currently under construction will be part of the IHCL SeleQtions brand, a new project that strengthens the company’s presence in Gujarat, raising its portfolio in continuous expansion to 29 hotels across different brands.
IHCL has partnered to develop this project with Sea Leaf Resort Private Limited, a company part of the Khavda Group, a diversified conglomerate with business interest in hospitality, salt manufacturing, confectionary business, cold - pressed edible oil production and traditional sweet.
The IHCL SeleQtions Mandvi Hotel located on a 18 - acre beachfront property with spectacular views on the Gulg of Kutch will provide 170 guestrooms, various dining options, a Spa with seven treatment rooms, a fully equipped gym, a swimming pool and a children’s play area.
The Executive Vice President - Real Estate & Development, IHCL, Ms. Suma Venkatesh highlighted that thr untouched beaches and unique cultural heritage of Mandvi offer great potential and IHCL’s commitment to developing untapped destinations, aligning with India’s “Dekho Apna Desh” initiative, the campaign seeks public feedback on the best tourist attractions in India across various categories developed by the Ministry of Tourism in collaboration with other Ministries and State/UT Goverments running promotional activities.
The Director of Sea Leaf Resort Private Limited, Ritesh Tanna, expressed his pleasure collaborating with IHCL, to make Mandvi a desirable destination for leisure travel.
