Paraguay, a landlocked country of South America situated between Argentina, Bolivia and Brazil characterized by various landscapes, home of subtropical forests,vast plains, large swaths of swapland, wilderness comprising savannah and scrubland, a land highlighted by vibrant, lively cities and towns and its strong Guarani identity through SENATUR, the National Secretary of Tourism of Paraguay and Itaipú Binacional, world leader in clean and renewable energy generation, company created in 1974, result of a partnership between the governments of Brazil and Paraguay established a partnership to boost tourism in the country with new initiatives.
The Minister of Tourism Angie Duarte representing SENATUR and the General Director of Itaipú Binacional, Justo Zacarias, have laid the foundations to work together in the promotion and development of the region's tourist attractions announcing a strategic alliance. and it has been known that one of the main focuses of this partnership will be the positioning of Itaipú's parks, beaches and environmental refuges as first - class tourist destinations.
In addition work will be done on the realization of the future Tekotopa Park in Alto Paraná, a project that promises to become a new icon of sustainable tourism in the country in a department which boasts several ecological reserves, a zoo and the the Taiwanese - Paraguayan Technology Park.
The area also has other attractions such as the Museum of the Guarani Land focused on indigenous culture, the Tati Yupi Sanctuary, a stunning wildlife reserve with trails and birdlife and the Dam,a huge hydroelectric dam established on the Paraná River between Brazil and Paraguay, known for its nighttime lights shows and views from the central lookout.
The Minister of Tourism said that this strategic alliance with Itaipú Binacional will allow SENATUR to promote the tourism development of Paraguay and offer the visitors unique experiences in contact with nature.
Itaipú Binacional agreed of on the importance of this collaboration for the sustainable development highlighting that Itaipú has a great tourism potential and working together with SENATUR will allow it to be used to the fullest.
