Riu Hotels & Resorts, Spanish hospitality company founded in 1953 and headquartered in Palma de Mallorca, focusing on holidays hotels and with over 70% of its establishments offering the renowned All Inclusive by RIU service, with a range of locations across the globe after a series of major revedelopment projects in the Caribbean is set to open a new RIU all – inclusive property, the Riu Ventura Resort in Cancun, Mexico that will open this year.
The hotel company has planned to add a ninth establishment before the end of 2025 in Cancun, famed destination on the Yucatán Peninsula, bordering the Caribbean Sea, known for its beautiful beaches, numerous resorts and nightlife and according to a statement by to Riu's CEO and Executive Director, Luis Riu this is a strategic expansion in an area boasting a high demand enhancing the position of Riu Hotels & Resorts as a leading operator in the region.
Riu Hotels & Resorts currently boasts 27 different all - inclusive resorts in the Caribbean with 22 in Mexico, including eight in the Cancun area and the Riu Ventura Resort is the first new Riu in Cancun property since the debut of the adults - only Hotel Riu Palace Kukulkan which opened its doors in 2023.
The Riu Ventura Resort is located near Playa Delfines, Cancun's largest free public beach, loved by several tourists for its panoramic views, gentle waves and turquoise waters, will feature a total of 700 rooms and it will boast all the characteristics elements of the brand, from the drink dispensers in the room to the 24 - hour all - inclusive program, including some themed restaurants.
The property will also be a family - friendly resort, though it's not yet clear if it will feature one of the company's new Splash water park concepts.
