Brazil, the largest and most populous country in South and Latin America, a popular tourist destination highlighted by a very rich cultural and historical heritage, vibrant cities and towns, a great biodiversity, its long Atlantic coastline filled by stunning, sunny beaches dramatic landscapes ranging from rainforests, rivers to vast plains and lagoons is experiencing an impressive growth of international tourist arrivals reaching visitation levels above any projections.
According to the last data provided by the Ministry of Tourism in collaboration with Embratur, the Brazilian Agency and Tourism Board promoting the country and the Federal Police the arrival of tourists has grown by 59% in the month of February 2025, reaching 1.32 million international travellers who landed on Brazilian soil.
These results undoubtedly represent a very high performance of the South American country concerning its incoming tourism that see with these brilliant achievements the success of the notable efforts focused on excellent strategic plans in promotion, campaigns, the diversification of its offer, the strong consolidation of the traditional destinations and an increasing in air connectivity among others.
In the two moths of 2025 there are already more than 2.8 million visitors and a growth of 57% compared to the same period in 2024, specifically the country received, in the first two months of this year 2.810.553 international visitors which represents the best record in the historical series for two months, an impressive growth compared to the same period of 2024.
In the month of February alone, 1.326.884 arrivals to Brazilian destinations were registered, establishing a growth of 59.2%, the second consecutive record of the year, taking in consideration that in January Brazil had already registered a record for the period, when 1.48 million international travellers visited the South American country.
The figure recorded in 2025 are well above the projections indicated for this year by sources such as GlobalData, +7.2% and National Tourism Plan itself, +1.8%.

Rio Grande do Sul - Brazil southernmost state, offering varied experiences from scenic canyons, centre with a a charming architecture and European influences, a strong gaucho culture and attractive cosstal beaches continues to be the main entry point for international tourists registering 347.186 arrivals.
São Paulo - The most popular city in Brazil, vibrant financial cetre, famous for its rich architectural traditions, boasting numerous cultural institutions with Guaurlhos, one of the country's main international airports placing itself in second position receving 309.977 tourists coming from abroad.
Rio De Janeiro - One of the most vibrant and visited cities in the Southern Hemisphere well known for its iconic beaches, Copacabana and Ipanema, carnival, samba, bossa nova and its stunning natural setting highlighted by several landmark and vibrant atmosphere also stood out, receiving 262.108 international visitors.
Salvador - The capital of Brazil's northeastern state of Bahia in the Zona da Mata, well known for its captivating Portuguese colonial architecture, tropical coastline and a very rooted Afro – Brazilian culture maintains the leadership in the northeast of the country with 24.254 travellers coming from other countries who chose the Bahian capital to enter in the South American country.
Markets - The demand for Argentines coming to Brazil continued to increase also in February 2025 and once again the border between the two largest South American countries became busy and Brazil received 662.694 visitors from the neighboring nation.
The aforementioned value represents more than double the number of tourists arriving from Argentina in the same month of the previous year when 306.756 tourists were recorded.
Concerning other markets, the average number of Europeans entering in Brazil grew by 56% between January and February 2025 with countries such as France, Germany, Italy, Portugal and the United Kingdom sent 142.000 tourists in the second month of the current year, compared to just over 91.000, who were in the country in January.
In addition to the records recorded in international tourist arrivals in January and February, as further relevant note Brazil also surpassed the record of annual visitors in 2024. In the 12 months of last year, 6.773.619 international visitors entered Brazil, 14.6% more than in 2023, when the figure was 5.908.341 tourists coming from abroad.
The President of Embratur, Marcelo Freixo said that the new brand indicates that Brazil is finally living up its tourism potential, in the two months of the year, the country reached visitation levels above any projection, even the most optimistic.

The Minister of Tourism, Celso Sabino stated that Brazil continues at the beginning of the year experiencing an exceptional moment in international tourism breaking all records, which had already broken in 2024 and starting 2025 strongly and the expectations is that this scenario will continue.
