Cusco, Peru | "Visit Cusco", a New Digital Platform to Showcase the Extensive Tourism Offering in the Region Launch

Cusco or Cuzco, famed city located in southeastern Peru, near the iconic Sacred Valley of the Andes mountain range and the Huatanay river, emblematic site inscribed in the World Heritage List in 1983 by UNESCO, launched "Visit Cusco" a new digital platform to showcase the extensive tourism offering in the region.

The Peruvian city is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the Western Hemisphere, the legendary former capital of the Inca Empire, a unique testimony of an ancient civilization, heart of Tawantisuyu imperial government, boasting extensive ruins that reflect great skill in engineering, stonework and architecture, now known for its archaeological remains, a stunning colonial architecture and to be a renowned tourist destination.

At a press conference the Regional governor of Cusco, Werner Salcedo Álvarez, officially presented the digital platform "Visit Cusco" a new strategy to enhance furthermore the image of the destination promoted by GERCETUR, the Regional Management of Foreign Trade, Tourism and Crafts.

The platform seeks to become a digital bridge between tourists and the extensive offering of tourism service in the region, showcasing all the rich cultural and historical heritage and attractiveness of a unique destination, including formal services such as community tourism, hotels, restaurants, travel agencies, a diversity of activities and also new destinations promoted in the region.

 This tool is designed to promote international and national tourism and also with the aim to connect travellers with the most important festivities in the region, starting with Qhaswa Raymi 2025 to continue with other outstanding celebrations such as Easter, National Holidays, tourism month and a end - of - year festivities, representing a complete agenda and guide to stay informed and updated all year round.

The highest authority of the region in his speech, stressed that Cusco has a previliged place in the tourism world and this platform is not only a digital instrument, but also an opportunity for small and medium - sized local entrepreneurs to have visibility and supporting the destination in its continuous consolidation as a global destination.
