The United Arab Emirates, country in West Asia, in the Middle East region, located at the eastern end of the Arabian Peninsula facing the Persian Gulf, a federal elective monarchy made up by seven emirates, launched Therme Dubai - Islands in the Sky, a revolutionary project setting a new standard for holistic and daily well - being, recently announced by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown of Dubai.
This unique project will incorporate sustainable innovations and the latest technologies to reduce environmental impact and maximize community benefits, and it is part of the famous Quality of Life 2033 Agenda which in the next 10 years has objectives aimed to the wellbeing of its citizens.
This strategy developed by the UAE authorities encompasses over 200 projects, initiatives and supporting plans set for the implementation in 3 phases that convers 10 key pillars, such as culture and entertainment, the natural environment, the urban environment, ,mobility, society and family, the economic environment, employment and work conditions, education, safety and security and health.
The revolutionary project Therme Dubai - Islands in the Sky was approved by Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council in collaboration with the Dubai City Council.
As part of the aformentioned UAE city’s quality of Life Strategy 2033 the emirate’s ambition is to transform the landscape and become an urban oasis with wellbeing oriented infrastructure
The construction of the futuristic Therme Dubai - Islands in the Sky will begin in 2026 and end in 2028, it will be for sure an architectural feat and an innovative step towards a new era representing a model of cities designed for the wellbeing and service of all.
Therme Dubai - Islands in the Sky designed by renowned architects Diller Scofidio + Renfro consists in a large complex set to rise in Zabeel Park, beside the Royal Palace in the beating heart of Dubai, blurring nature and city living.
The future landmark will span 500.000 square feet with a 100 - metres - tall structure and is designed to welcome 1.7 million visitors annually, setting a new standard for holistic and daily wellbeing, a creation absolutely unique, unique in its kind.
This project will mutate Dubai’s skyline by offering breathtaking views of the city and guests will be immersed in unique environments such as hot, cold, wet and dry, the intense heat of saunas and steam rooms, and the ambient temperature of thermal and mineral pools, absolutely a new standard for holistic and daily well- being in a city.
The complex will boast unique features such as stacked terraces, cascading pools and botanical gardens, a site where visitors can full enjoy restorative hot springs and minerals, as well as social spaces with furthermore the opportunity to enjoy to several cultural events that will be planned to complete the project also as a hub of entertainment.
Therme Dubai - Islands in the Sky will incorporate sustainable innovations and technologies to reduce environmental impact and maximize community benefits.
In addition the complex will recycle 90% of the water in the thermal pools, cover 80% of its fresh air and cooling with clean energy sources and furthermore it will implement intelligent resource management and advanced energy efficiency systems, guaranteeing a minimum environmental footprint.
The Founding Partner of Diller Scofidio + Renfro, Elizabeth Diller said that during the day, the atmosphere is contemplative and relaxing, at night, the spaces come alive with music, performances and events.
