Comodoro Rivadavia, Argentina | Establishing itself as a Tourism Pole for Hosting Expo Turismo from 15th to 17th August 2025

Comodoro Rivadavia, a city in the Patagonian province of Chubut within the Escalante Department in southern Argentina, located on the San Jorge Gulf, an inlet of the Atlantic Ocean, at the foot of the suggestive Chenque Hill, a relevant commercial and transportation centre for the surrounding region and an important export point for a leading Argentine petroleum district is establishing itself as a tourism pole for hosting a new edition of Expo Turismo from 15th to 17th August 2025. 

Established as a key event for the regional and national tourism sector with a notable interest by international operators, considered the most important event in the industry in Patagonia, and organized by the Comodoro Rivadavia Tourism entity, the 2025 edition will take place at the "Predio Ferial de Comodoro Rivadavia", the city fairgrounds, under the slogan "Patagonia Summit, destination and sea of opportunities" reaffirming Comodoro Rivadavia's commitment to positioning itself as a leading host city for tourism in Patagonia and in the international landscape.

The fair is part of the Pioneer 2030 Plan, a public policy that focuses on tourism as a driver of economic and social development. Within this framework, Expo Turismo seeks to highlight new business opportunities, foster local pride, and give prominence to the voices of the region.

In this context, the authorization of the first regulated nautical providers in Comodoro Rivadavia was made official, which will offer excursions in the Gulf of San San Jorge under the brand "Habitantes del Mar", "Inhabitants of the Sea".

The event is a combination of business rounds, cultural experiences, gastronomic proposals and outdoor activities making it a notable platform for networking, establishing strategic partnerships and knowing new tourist products and proposals. 

The opening day on 15th August, will be dedicated exclusively to the Patagonian Summit, a business roundtable for industry professionals, featuring the exclusive presence of nationally and internationally wholesalers. 

This strategic space will promote exchanges between operators, tourism providers, established and emerging destinations, as well as the development of alliances aimed at driving the region's sustainable development.

On 16th and 17th August, Expo Turismo will be open to the general public with free admission, becoming a meeting point for communities, visitors, entrepreneurs, tourist destinations, regional producers, and gastronomic and cultural icons. 

The program combines recreational activities, interactive experiences, talks, training, and a broad showcase of Patagonian identity.

Executive Manager of the Comodoro Rivadavia Tourism Board, Eduardo Carrasco, emphasized that this year the aim is to further professionalizing Expo Turismo, with an exclusive event for operators and providers, which will allow the destination to strategically showcases the products and experiences the city and the region have to offer. 

One of the main objectives is to put the sea at the centre of the stage, not only as a natural resource, but as an identity and economic centerpiece, driving opportunities for sustainable tourism in Comodoro Rivadavia.

The participation to this fair will also be a unique opportunity to explore and discover the city which boasts a notable cultural and historical heritage discovering outstanding attractions include the marine fauna watching, the Nationa Petroleum Museum, the San Jorge Lighthouse and the Punta Marqués Reserve among others.
