Hilton Worldwide Holdings, Inc., American multinational hospitality company headquartered in Tysons, Virginia has signed an agreement to open a Waldorf Astoria hotel in Nusa Dua, an area in southern Bali, idyllic island of Indonesia, a destination known for its sandy beaches like the stunning Geger Beach, international resorts, an 18 - hole golf course and highlighted by the intricately Pura Geger stone temple sits on a forested bluff overlooking the ocean.
The development of the future Waldorf Astoria Bali is in partnership with Indonesian property developer PT Balibuana Perkasa based in South Jakarta and this project marks Hilton's continued expansion in Indonesia, where it currently operates 16 hotels and has 12 more in the pipeline and is part of Hilton's strategy to increase its luxury hotel presence in the Asia Pacific region.
The new luxury hotel set to open in late 2027 will enter in the Waldorf Astoria brand characterized by hotels that creates a unique sense of place with a relentless commitment to personal service and culinary expertise in landmark locations around the world, offering luxury, comfort and an impeccable service.
The Waldorf Astoria Bali will be located along Sawangan Beach, also known as Geger Sawangan Beach, and formerly known Nikko Beach, a beautiful white sand stretch in the upscale Nusa Dua area on the Bukit Peninsula, known for its clear waters and serene atmosphere, making it a popular spot for relaxation and enjoying the sun. It's less crowded than some of the more popular beaches in the area, offering a more secluded experience.
Conveniently close to attractions such as Geger Beach and the cliffs fronts of Ungasan and Uluwatu, 14.5 kilometres from Ngurah Rai International Airport, the future establishment will be a strategic location to explore and enjoy South Bali, living an authentic and unique experience.
The property will feature 71 villas and 68 guests suites, offering stunning views of the Indian Ocean and providing direct access to the shoreline and a beach club.
The hotel will offer multiple dining options like the Peacock Alley restaurant and the Ledge by Dave Pynt characterized for its open - flame cooking.
In addition the resort will provide wellness facilities, including a spa, fitness centre and swimming pools and for events, the Waldorf Astoria Bali will provide 748 square metres of space, including a 465 – square metre ballroom and a chapel.
The Waldorf Astoria Bali will join Hilton's existing brands in Bali, which include Conrad Hotels & Resorts and LXR Hotels & Resorts.
Hilton has recently surpassed 1.000 luxury and lifestyle hotels globally, with an additional 500 in development.
The company plans to open additional Waldorf Astoria properties in the Asia Pacific region in relevant cities such as Hanoi, Vietnam, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Shanghai and Xi'an, China, Sydney, Australia and Tokyo, Japan over the next two years.
