Official sources also published figures on the notable growth in air traffic, visitor numbers, international tourist spending, hospitality services, and the implementation of new technology and transport initiatives.
Dubai’ s success is linked to several factors including its stable economy, tax benefits, the availability of multiple - free trade zones combined with a strategic location, natural beauty, a warm culture, economic growth, an exceptional safety and security.
UAE Tourism Strategy 2031 aims to make the country a top global destination. Part of the projects of the 50', it targets AED450 billion in GDP contribution, AED100 billion in new investments and 40 million hotel guests by 2031. The plan focuses on innovation, sustainability and quality visitor experiences.
All these components have positioned Dubai and UAE as one of the most popular destinations for tourist from all over the world and Dubai established itself also as a leading destination for the organization of events and meetings of high level.
Dubai Business Events recorded 249 successful bids between January and June 2025, linked to events through 2029. The conversion rate increased to 64%, up from 58% in the same period in 2024, with an expected delegate count of 127.087.
A further brilliant performance is linked to Dubai International Airport (DXB) which handled 46.2 million passengers in the first half of the year, with 22.5 million in Q2.
The Dubai World Trade Centre served over 510.000 hospitality guests at 100 events, and according to the World Travel and Tourism Council, international visitor spending in the UAE reached AED217 billion in 2024, with total travel and tourism contribution to AED257.3 billion.
Another remarkable milestone is the operation led by the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy introduced the Entrepreneur’s AI Playbook which offers valuable guidance on the artificial intelligence tools available to support every stage of developing entrepreneurial projects.
Finally, Dubai also conducted the region’s first test flight of an electric aerial taxi in partnership with Joby Aviation, a company specializing in electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, demonstrating its significant commitment to innovating the aviation sector with new technologies and an eye to the future.
