Hilton Worldwide Holdings, Inc., has expanded its presence in the Caribbean with the opening of its first property in the U.S. Virgin Islands, an archipelago of about 90 small islands, islets, cays and rocks located between the North Atlantic Ocean and northeastern Caribbean Sea, forming part of the Leeward Islands of the Lesser Antilles situated some 64 to 80 kilometres from Puerto Rico, well known for a rich culture, storied history, pristine beaches, turquoise waters and natural diversity.
The Hampton By Hilton St. Thomas opened its doors in Charlotte Amalie, captivating city and cruise ship port on the island of St. Thomas and capital of the U.S. Virgin Islands, located on the southern shore of the head of the harbour with the same name, a centre that is well known for its historic sites, Danish colonial architecture, elegant dining, shopping and exciting nightlife.
This development is part of Hilton’s strategy increasing portfolio in the Caribbean, where it currently operates approximately 50 hotels and aligns with the company’s broader expansion plans in the Caribbean and Latin America, where the group currently boasts over 290 hotels and has an additional 140 projects in development.
The hotel is owned by Haven Development and managed by Hotel Equities, a hospitality operator and developer based in Alpharetta, Georgia, U.S. managing a portfolio of hotels, resorts and outdoor hospitality destinations throughout the U.S., Canada, the Caribbean and Latin America.
The property close to shopping and dining options is situated at Havensight Mall, Parcel 2 overlooking Long Bay, near to the lively West Indies Company Road, not far from Prince Ruperts Cove, within a 10 - minute drive of Bolongo Bay and Frenchman’s Bay, 7.2 kilometres from Magens Bay Beach, Cyril E. King Airport is 6.5 kilometres away and the hotel’s proximity to the cruise pier makes it accessible for travellers arriving by sea.
Hampton By Hilton St. Thomas features 126 comfortable rooms and offers amenities including a full -service bar and lounge named The Helm, which is open to the public offering stunning views of Long Bay, a 3.800 - square - foot patio, a 2.000 - square - foot pool deck, 850 square feet of event spaces, a fitness centre and providing a complimentary hot breakfast for guests.
