Hyatt Hotels Corporation, American multinational hospitality company headquartered in Chicago, Illinois has announced the upcoming opening in Q4 2025 of its first Andaz hotel in Portugal, located in Lisbon, the the vibrant capital and largest city of the country, a launch that is part Hyatt's stratergy to expand its portfolio in key destinations in Europe and Europe.
Nestled in the beating heart of Lisbon’s historic Baixa neighbourhood he Hotel Andaz Lisbon will open its doors on Rua do Comércio, a lively street located a short distance from the the bustling urban arteries Rua Augusta highlighted by its majestic Arch, Rua do Arsenal and Rua da Alfândega very close to the vibrant squares Praça do Comercio and Praça do Municipio, offering guests a very easy access to the major attractions and landmarks of the Portuguese capital.
Andaz Lisbon will feature 170 comfortable rooms and suites ranging from 22 to 99 squares, offering stunning views of Lisbon iconic landmarks such as São Jorge Castle, Praça do Comercio and the Tagus River.
A rooftop restaurant and terrace will serve modern Portuguese cuisine inspired by Lusitanian’s heritage, with live music, DJ sets, and crafted cocktails. The Andaz Lounge, a social hub inspired by Lisbon’s emblematic kiosks will offer traditional Portuguese street food, artisan coffee, and hand - crafted local beers and spirits.
The hotel enters in Andaz, a luxury lifestyle brand that focuses on local culture, immersive experiences, and a “casual luxury vibe”. Key features include dynamic, locally inspired design and art, fresh locally sourced food and beverages, vibrant lounge spaces, and unique cultural programming.
Andaz aims to eliminate traditional barriers like check - in counters, creating fluid, welcoming spaces with personalized guest hosts and complimentary amenities, fostering a sense of authentic, local immersion for guests.
Experienced hotelier Cajetan Araujo will be the property’s General Manager, a global hotelier with more than two decades of experience in luxury hospitality, bringing a dynamic leadership style and a deep passion for design, culture, culinary and guest experience.
The Manager led W Algarve Hotel & Residences, where he managed the launch of the brand’s first property in Portugal, boasting a career also includes leadership roles at W Goa, and St. Regis Hotels in Doha, Mumbai and Miami’s Bal Harbour.
The new hotel Manager stated that Andaz Lisbon is more than a hotel, it’s a statement of intent. It’s the first of a new generation of Andaz properties, designed to reflect the soul of its surroundings, inspire meaningful connections, and empower guests to explore with curiosity and confidence.
The manager added to be honoured to lead this exciting journey and together with the team there is enthusiasm to soon welcome guests who can now book their stay at Andaz Lisbon.
