Accor S.A. | Unveiled the Future Opening of a New Sofitel Hotel in Genoa, Italy

Accor S.A., French Multinational hospitality company based in Issy - les - Moulineaux has unveiled the future opening of a new Sofitel on Genoa’s waterfront, a project that is a collaboration with AG Group, Italy’s leading incoming tourism group, offering direct management of hotels. DMC/Tour Operator & Event Management, restaurants, and hotel consultancy headquartered in Rome.

 The Sofitel Genoa Waterfront will open its doors in Genoa, bustling port city in the Mediterranean, capital of northwest Italy’s Liguria region, well known for its central role in maritime trade over many centuries, a centre that boasts a rich cultural and historical heritage, noted for its many examples of medieval, Renaissance, Baroque, and Gothic architecture, and a very vibrant atmosphere.

AC Group, which operates a portfolio of high – end properties, has partnered with Accor S.A. on this development : the Genova Waterfront redevelopment that involved consultancy from Fortvny, a hotel advisory firm that identified AG Group as the operator.

The project involves investors and developers Orion and CDS Holding Spa, as part of the Waterfront di Levante development which aims to revitalize Genoa’s seafront with parks, docks, residences, and cultural spaces.

The strategic location of the property will benefit from improved rail connectivity, which is expected to link Genoa to Milan, the second largest city of Italy and capital of the Lombardy region in 53 minutes by 2026, with in addition an easy access to the glamorous Portofino and the beautiful Cinque Terre on the Italian Riviera.

The hotel will be designed by Renzo Piano Building Workshop, a renowned international architectural practice with offices in Paris and Genoa that boasts over 140 completed projects worldwide.

The hotel will feature 120 comfortable rooms, including 20 suites, amenities will include an all - day dining restaurant, a lobby lounge bar, a pool bar, a spa, a gym and two meeting rooms.

This future opening of the hotel marks an expansion of Sofitel’s presence in Italy, following the success of Sofitel Roma Villa Borghese and will be the first international luxury hotel in the city, entering a market currently dominated by independent operators.

The hotel will enter into Sofitel brand, a unique “Cultural Link” concept, blending French art de vivre with local culture of each destination through design, gastronomy and experiences. The brand emphasizes the “joie de vivre” or French zest, in its luxurious, elegant, and sophisticated settings, aiming to create heartfelt, memorable encounters for free - spirited travellers who appreciate authenticity and discovery.
