IHCL, The Indian Hotels Company Limited, hospitality company part of Tata Group and based in Mumbai, boasting a large portfolio of hotels, resorts and vacation properties across the entire Indian territory has signed an agreement to add a new property to its SeleQtions portfolio in Mussorie, a hill station and a municipal board in the Dehradum district of the Indian state of Uttarakhand in the foothills of the Garhwal Himalayan range, a centre built across a ridge and overlooking the verdant Doon Valley and distant snow - peaked Himalayas.
Mussoorie is a well known locality which has become a year - round destination due to improved connectivity located in an area renowned for its colonial architecture, scenic views of the majestic Himalaya, trekking, hiking, and adventure activities, and numerous attractions include Bhatta Falls, Kempty Falls, Mussoorie Lake, Company Garden and Mall Road among others.
The hotel, known as Kamala Castle, originally built in the 1940s will be restored and relaunched with 30 comfortable rooms maintaining its Art Deco architectural style and vintage detailing and will offer a blend of heritage and contemporary luxury.
The project is a collaboration between The Indian Hotels Company Limited and JK Urbanscapes Developers Limited, a multinational group based in Delhi, one of the best real estate developers in India with a heritage of more than 125 years.
The property will feature an all - day dining restaurant, a bar, a fitness centre, a heated swimming pool, and treated rooms, amenities that are designed to cater to both business and leisure travellers.
The establishment will enter into the SeleQtions brand, a curated collection of properties known for their individual personality and special character, offering unique experiences, and featuring a strong connection to their local context, historic lineage, design, or a distinct creative theme, appealing to experiential travellers.
The addition of Kamala Castle aligns with IHCL's strategy to strengthen its presence in key leisure markets. The partnership with JK Urbanscapes Developers Limited continues the collaboration between the two companies, aiming to revitalize the heritage property.
