Hilton Worldwide Holdings, Inc., American multinational company based in Tysons, Virginia has announced plans to expand its presence in Croatia with the future opening of a beach resort & spa on Lopud Island, off the coast of Dalmatia near Dubrovnik, the second island of the Elaphiti archipelago, between Koločep and Šipan, famous as “the island in the middle”, well known for its sandy beaches, in particular in the stunning bay of Šunj.
The development of Hilton Lopud Beach Resort & Spa follows a management agreement with Anker Grupa d.o.o. , a firm established in 1995 headquartered in Lopud Island and the establishment is scheduled to open in 2027.
The property will be the first internationally branded accommodation on Lopud Island, a project that is part of Hilton’s strategy to expand its portfolio in a leading destination like Croatia, where Hilton currently boasts 13 hotels either operating or in development.
The resort will be situated in a seafront location of this idyllic island that has a surface area of 4.38 square kilometres and a coastal development of 14.63 kilometres, separated from the Dalmatian coast by the Koločepski Kanal, located opposite Trsteno from which it is approximately 2.5 km away.
Hilton Lopud Beach Resort & Spa will undergo extensive renovations before opening and will feature 111 comfortable rooms and suites with a balcony or terrace, and seven additional apartments in a separate building.
The property will offer a variety of dining options, including three restaurants and two bars with panoramic views of the Adriatic Sea.
Additional amenities will include a heated infinity swimming pool, a spa and wellness centre, a private beach house, a gym, outdoor tennis courts, bike hire and the resort will also provide yacht rental services and a Grab & Go food market for guests.
For events, the resort will feature four meeting rooms and a ballroom making it an ideal destination for business travellers and event organizers to plan strategic social gatherings and meetings.
The establishment will also offer a private pier and boats will facilitate transfers to and from the mainland, providing access to Dubrovnik’s Old Town and Dubrovnik Airport.
