The Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL), hospitality group based in Mumbai and part of Tata Group has signed an agreement to develop and open a new Taj resort in the Sawai Madhopur district, situated in the southeastern region of the state of the Indian state of Rajasthan and part of Bharatpur Division, famous to be the location of Rathambore National Park, iconic Forts and highlighted by an exotic variety of flora and fauna.
The development is a greenfield project, indicating it will be constructed on previously undeveloped land in collaboration with Vanivinayak Hospitality LLP, a company based in Jaipur, India, involved in the business of hotels and restaurants.
The resort’s future opening is part of the Indian Hotels Company Limited’s strategy to enhance its presence in Rajasthan, a state known for its several cultural and natural attractions.
Sawai Madhopur is a relevant destination, considered the gateway to Ranthambore National Park, a popular destination for wildlife enthusiasts, known for tiger safaris, and history, highlighted by Ranthanmbore Fort, an ancient fort with a significant historical background and Khandar Fort, located on a strategic hill and ruled by various kings, including the Sisodia Kings and the Mughals.
Nestled amidst the wilderness, the eco - sensitive wildlife resort is designed to reflect the natural beauty of the surroundings and will feature 75 units, including suites and villas with private courtyards and plunge pools.
Amenities will include an all - day dining restaurant, a specialty restaurant, a bar, a safari lounge, a heated swimming pool, a spa, a fitness centre, a salon, and meeting spaces.
The resort will incorporate environmentally sustainable practices, including solar - powered amenities, rainwater harvesting systems, and locally sourced materials. These initiatives align with IHCL’s ESG+ framework, focusing on environmental, social, and governance standards.
The establishment will enter into the emblematic Taj brand, characterized by its deep Indian heritage and authentic cultural experiences, world - class service and a strong commitment to sustainability.
The brand also focuses on preserving Indian culinary traditions and craftmanship, maintaining an iconic luxury image, and expanding its global presence highlighting responsible tourism.
