IHCL, The Indian Hotels Company Limited | Launched a New SeleQtions Hotel in Haridwar, Uttarakhand, India

IHCL, the Indian Hotels Company Limited, a hospitality firm part of Tata Group and based in Mumbai, boasting a large portfolio of hotels, resorts and vacation properties launched a new SeleQtions hotel in Haridwar, an ancient city and important Hindu pilgrimage site in North India’s Uttarakhand state, where the River Ganges exits the Himalayan foothills.

Haridwar is one of the four holy Indian cities that host the Kumbh Mela, a picus gathering of millions of Hindu devotees every 12 years, the Ardh Kumbh organized in the city every six year and also the Kanwar Mela every year during the rainy seasons.

The opening of Hari Ganga Niwas hotel marks the second SeleQtions property in the city, following the Pilibith House and is IHCL’s sixth collaboration with the Prasad Group , a real estate and construction company based in Kolkata.

The new hotel is situated at 21, Ram Ghat on the banks of Ganges River, tucked away just beyond the bustling lanes of Haridwar’s riverside market, hosted in a restored heritage retreat, originally established in 1913 and aims to cater to visitors interested in the spiritual and cultural aspects of Haridwar, a city renowned for its religious significance and events.

The property features 15 comfortable rooms, each offering a stunning view of the Ganges River, an all - day vegetarian restaurant named Ghar Se, which focuses on local ingredients and also provides guests with experiences such as guided heritage walks in Haridwar and access to the Ganga Aarti, a spiritual ritual of worship dedicated to the Ganges River which is considered a sacred and purifying goddes at a private ghat.

The hotels is now part of the SeleQtions brand, a curated collection of properties known for their individual personality and special character, offering unique experiences, and featuring a strong connection to their local context, historic lineage, design, or a distinct creative theme, appealing to experiential travellers.
