Minor Hotels, an international operator, investor and owner in the hospitality industry founded in 1978 and based in Bangkok, Thailand has unveiled the development of new Anantara property in Ushuaia, the capital of Tierra del Fuego, Antártida e Islas del Atlántico Sur Province, located on the Tierra del Fuego archipelago, the southernmost tip of South America, nicknamed the “End of the World”, where the Andes Mountains meet the Beagle Channel.
The hotel management agreement for the project is with Fideicomiso Urbanización Monte Susana, an Argentine development group headquartered in Ushuaia with experience in residential projects in the Ushuaia and Tierra del Fuego region.
The project will be part of the Costa Susana master plan in proximity to Tierra del Fuego National Park, a vast territory in the ecoregion of Patagonic Forest and Altos Andes, a part of the subantarctic forest.
The Anantara Ushuaia Patagonia Resort is scheduled to open in early 2028 and will be located a short distance from Ushuaia International Airport, which offers direct flights to the capital of the country, Buenos Aires and other domestic locations.
The development is notable for its participation in the World Architecture Festival’s Landscapes and Environment category, marking Argentina’s first nomination, and is recognized as the country’s first carbon - neutral project.
This landmark resort in Patagonia wilderness will feature 60 comfortable rooms and suites, a spa and wellness centre, dining options and meeting facilities.
The property will offer an easy access to local attractions, including ski resort, the End of the World Train, luxury cruises and excursions to Tierra del Fuego National Park.
The project aligns with Argentina’s growing status as a leisure destination offering combination of Antarctic adventure and natural landscapes.
The establishment will be part of Anantara brand known for its emphasis on authentic luxury through its three pillars : Indigenous, Expertise, and Authentic Luxury, characterized by a new, modern visual identity with an updated logo and tagline “Unforgettable Journeys” which reflects its global presence.
