The development is a comprehensive conversion project located at Calle Alfredo Truán, 2, in an emblematic building that housed the historic Hotel Robledo, an establishment with a long history in the sector in the heart of the city.
The refurbishment will be directed by the the Gijón - based studio Hernández - Sande Arquitectos and will feature the talent of interior designer Alejandra Pombo, whose creative gaze will transform the space into a place with its own character.
Thei project is inspired by the essence of Gijón, reinterpreting the local identity with the unmistakable style of Vincci Hotels : design with soul, attention to detail and an authentic connection with the destination. The renovation work is expected to end in two year, with an expected opening date of 2027.
The privileged location next to the lively Paseo de Begoña and a few metres from the Jovellanos Theatre, places the hotel in one of the most dynamic and well - connected areas of Gijón, with easy access to the main services, shops, cultural areas, and key attractions including the urban Playa de San Lorenzo beach, the historic Cimadevilla fisherman’s quarter, and the Elogio del Horizonte sculpture atop Santa Catalina hill.
The hotel will feature 124 comfortable rooms distributed on 15 floors, organised into three typologies and with surfaces of up to 32 square metre, the result of an ambitious comprehensive refurbishment project backed by an investment of close €20 million, promoted outside the management and operation of the hotel, and aimed at revaluing this asset.
Amenities will include a restaurant, rooftop, a gym, spaces for events, and other facilities present in the Vincci Hotel brand.
The CEO and General Manager of Vincci Hotels, Carlos Calero said that arriving in Gijón is much more than opening a new hotel; it is an exciting step within the group expansion plan a clear commitment to a strategic place in the north of Spain.
