Hilton Worldwide Holdings, Inc., American multinational hospitality company based in Tysons, Virginia, is set to expand its lifestyle hotel portfolio in Türkiye with the introduction of Canopy by Hilton brand, which will open two new properties in Istanbul and Izmir this month.
This development marks the brands’ entry into the Turkish market, following the earlier introduction of the Tapestry Collection by Hilton and continued expansion under the Curio Collection by Hilton, a strategy to increase the presence of the company in Türkiye, a leading destination globally.
The Canopy by Hilton Istanbul Taksim - The hotel is located at Şehit Muhtar, Tarlabaşi Boulevard No: 122 D:140 just steps from the the bustling Taksim Square and 400 metres from the lively pedestrian Istikal Avenue in the vibrant Beyoglu district, known for its bohemian atmosphere, historic landmarks like the Galata Tower, its iconic red tram, diverse shopping, cafes, restaurants, museums (like Istanbul Modern) art, galleries, and nighlife, blending historic architecture with modern dynamism across neighbourhoods like Karaköy and Cihan.
The property blending modern comfort with Istanbul’s rich cultural heritage features 110 comfortable rooms, an all - day restaurant serving Turkish and international cuisine, along with a wine bar located in a 150 - year - old cistern, a boutique spa, fitness studio, and courtyard spaces.
The Canopy by Hilton Izmir Bomonti - The property is located at Alkapunar, Mürselpaşa Boulevard. No:172 near Mahal Bomonti Entertainment Arena, just minutes from the Alsancak promenade, Kordon waterfront, and key cultural attractions in the Bomonti area, a neighbourhood centrally located, close to the Aegean coast. Hilton’s lifestyle category is experiencing significant growth globally, now accounting for 20% of the company’s development pipeline. The group plans to open four lifestyle properties in Türkiye by 2025, including the debut od the Tapestry Collection with the Ritus Hotel Istanbul Sultanahmet.
Additionally, Hilton has nine more lifestyle hotels across Türkiye. Five of these are scheduled to open next year, including Hilton’s first cave hotel Elika Cave Suites Cappadocia, as well as other properties in Istanbul and Izmir under the Curio Collection and Tapestry brands.
These new openings are part of Hilton’s broader strategy to increase its presence in the lifestyle hotel segment, which includes nearly 90 lifestyle hotels across Europe. Recent additions to this portfolio include properties in Croatia, Italy, and Spain.
