IHG Hotels & Resorts, British multinational hospitality company based in Windsor, Berkshire, England, UK, has inaugurated a new Hotel Indigo located in Torquay, a renowned seaside resort town of the English Channel of Devon in south west England.
Torquay is a very popular family - friendly destination since the Victorian era, known for its beaches such as Meadfoot Beach, Babbacombe and cliffside Oddicombe, with a scenic coastline nicknamed the "English Riviera" because of the warm microclimate,palm trees lining the roads, and highlighted by a relaxed atmosphere, fine restaurants and exclusive shops.
The newly opened Hotel Indigo Torquay by IHG is owned by Singapore - based Fragrance Group founded in 2000 by Wee Meng Koh that operates as a developer of residential and commercial properties and will be managed by IHG Hotels, marking the latest addition to the IHG’s portfolio.
Nestled along the English Riviera in South Devon’s most spirited resort, this uniquely stylish waterfront hotel set amidst the scenic beauty of Corbyn Head is located on Torbay Road, 100 metres from Livermead Beach near several attractions including Torquay Museum, Kents Cavern, Princess Pier, and Torre Abbey Sands, providing guests to access to various transport links and tourist sites within the region.
The hotel’s design draws inspiration from local maritime heritage and the surrounding seaside environment, integrating elements of Devon’s culture and history.
The property features 153 comfortable rooms and suites, the Root & Reef Bistro, which highlights local fishing and farming traditions by offering a menu that incorporates local produce. The hotel plans to open The Cast rooftop bar in Spring 2026, offering panoramic views of the bay.
Amenities at the hotel include a wellness suite with treatment rooms, a fitness centre and a seasonal outdoor pool. The property is also dog - friendly, allowing guests to bring pets during their stay.
The hotel joins the Indigo boutique hotel brand, known for its vibrant community - focused properties that reflect the unique stories of the neighbourhoods they are located.
