IHG Hotels & Resorts, British multinational hospitality company based in Windsor, Berkshire, England, UK, has signed a franchise agreement to open a Crowne Plaza hotel in Multan, a city in the Punjab province of Pakistan located along the eastern bank of the Chenab River.
Multan is a major cultural, religious and economic centre, well known to be one of the oldest inhabited cities of Asia, with a history stretching deep into antiquity, famous for its numerous Sufi shrines, historical tombs, and distinctive blue - tiled architecture, handicrafts such as ceramics, and for its agricultural products.
The project is part of IHG Hotels & Resorts’ strategy to expand its presence in high - potential cities, leveraging growth from infrastructure development and increasing tourism.
The future Crowne Plaza Multan is scheduled to open in early 2028 and its development is part of an agreement between IHG Hotels & Resorts and Serene Tower PVT Ltd., a subsidiary of Nawaz Group of Companies and will be the first Crowne Plaza in the city.
Located within the DHA Multan community, a prestigious residential area featuring well - planned plots and commercial spaces with modern infrastructure and providing a secure living environment, the hotel will be part of the Serene Tower development situated along Bosan and Mattital Roads.
This location is well known for its excellent connectivity across the Punjab region, catering to various sectors, including corporate travel, meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE) segment, as well as golf, education, and healthcare tourism.
Crowne Plaza Multan will include modern and comfortable rooms, dining venues, a fitness centre, a swimming pool and meeting spaces. These facilities are designed to accommodate the needs of both business and leisure travellers.
The property will join the Crowne Plaza upscale brand designed for both business and leisure travellers offering comfort and various amenities, characterized by a focus on guest connections, modern communal spaces, and intuitive service created to meet the needs of today’s travellers, with its hotels often located in city centres, resort destinations or near airports.
The Crowne Plaza Multan will join IHG Hotels & Resorts’ global portfolio, which currently includes over 415 open hotels and nearly 150 in the pipeline.
