The Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL), hospitality firm part of Tata Group and based in Mumbai, has unveiled the development of a new Gateway resort in Patnitop, a hill station, located, between Ramban Town and Udhampur city in the Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir, India.
Patnitop is a captivating small centre surrounded by mountains and forests, located on the Jammu - Srinagar National Highway, a relevant gateway to the Himalayas, cradled amidst the snow - capped Pir Panjal range boasting relevant attractions like Natha Top, a scenic hilltop known for its panoramic views and Billo Ki Powri, a stunning 270 - step staircase carved out of a mountain.
The centre is a very popular destination known for its natural lasndscapes and opportunities for adventure sports, including paragliding, trekking and skiing and also well known for its street shopping, Kashmiri handicrafts, production of Pashmina shawls and its famous and delicious dry fruits.
The development of the Gateway Patnitop is part of IHCL’s strategy to expand its portfolio in leisure markets and aims to cater to increasing demand form region such as Punjab, Delhi NCR, and Jammu.
The project of the establishment involves converting an existing property and include plans for future expansion.
The resort will feature 78 rooms, an all - day dining restaurant, a specialty restaurant, a bar, two swimming pools, one of which will be heated, a fitness centre, treatment rooms and for events the Gateway Patnitop will offer a banquet hall spanning over 4.000 squares feet.
The property will join the Gateway brand focuses on providing upscale, full - service hotels and resorts, offering a consistent experience for business and leisure travellers across India. The brand aims to provide a hassle - free experience with a focus on simplicity and personalized services.
With this new addition, The Indian Hotels Company Limited will have a total of 12 hotels in Jammu and Kashmir, including six that are currently under development.
