Kerten Hospitality, an award - winning company headquartered in Dublin, Ireland, well known for its innovative concepts, a commitment to vibrant communities and sustainability, a leading investment firm that focuses on creating value and profitable growth through successful transformations with a strong corporate portfolio of boutique brands has unveiled it portfolios expansion in Morocco, with the development of a hotel located in Tétouan.

Tétouan  is a captivating city located in north Morocco along the Martil Valley, one of the two major ports of the North African country on the Mediterranean Sea, a few kilometres south of the Strait of Gibraltar, and about 60 kilometres from Tangier.

Famed for its fine crafmanship and musical delicacy, Tétouan  has been part of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network in the area of Crafts and Folk art since 2017 and its relevant cultural heritage is the product of the interaction between different cultural influences throughout centuries.

The development of  the Cloud 7 Dersa Tetuàn hotel is the result of an agreement signed with Oromecanica Group, a Moroccan company primarily known as distinguished jeweller, also expanding into the hospitality sector through recent development projects and headquartered in Casablanca.

The hotel will be located minutes from the Martil - Tamuda Bay coastline between Tétouan and Tangier, an area which offers a lively promenade and beach, a location for upscale hotels and a more tranquil high - end resort experiences, not far from Plage de Cabo Negro Beach, Sidi Abdeslam Beach and close to key cultural sites.

The property will be developed  within Tétouan’s historic Dersa building in the Spanish - era district also known as “Ensanche” , developed outside the old medina, an urban area showcases a grid layout, with streets and buildings with characteristics like whitewashed facades and wrought - iron balconies reflecting a typical Spanish urban planning style.

During the 1930s when Tétouan served as the capital the Spanish Protectorate in Morocco, the Dersa operated as a prominent hotel andf it was a popular destination for diplomats, adventurers and writers.

Its design fused Andalusian architecture with Art Deco elements, reflecting the city’s role as a cultural crossroads during that period, and  it will preserve the original façade, while reimagining interiors as a contemporary, design - led space.

The hotel will feature 63 rooms and family suites, several F&B outlets, including Kerten’s Joontos, a lobby café , a rooftop bar, and a cigar lounge.

Backed by support from the Moroccan Agency for Tourism Development, the signing aligns with sustained sector growth driven by public investment, expanding air connectivity and record arrivals, highlighting continued investor interest in adaptive re - use and experiential product development in Tétouan.
