Four Seasons Hotels Limited, trading as Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, a luxury hotel and resort company based in Toronto, Canada, which has transformed the hospitality industry by combining personalized and genuine care with a commitment to excellence in service and details has announced the future opening of a stylish, luxury hotel and residences in Cartagena,  attractive, vibrant port city on Colombia’s Caribbean coast. 

Cartagena also known as Cartagena de Indias is famous for its rich history, vibrant culture, stunning landscapes, greatly highlighted by the iconic UNESCO - listed Walled City, founded in the 16th century, colourful colonial architecture, picturesque streets, suggestive square, dominated by the imposing Castillo de San Felipe de Barajas located on the hill of San Lázaro overlooking the captivating Rosario Islands, making it one of the most charming and attractive destinations in South America.

The Cartagena opening, is part of Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts ongoing strategy to expand its presence in historic buildings in key destinations.

The project incorporates several historic buildings, including the 16th - century San Francisco cloister and temple. a collection of theatres, and the 1920s Club Cartagena.

Restoration and design work involved multiple firms and individuals, including French designers François Catroux, design studio SBM, WATG, Wimberly Interiors, AvroKO, principal architect José María Rodríguez, restorers Ricardo Sánchez and Angelina Vélez, and local artisans and international partners contributed to furniture, textiles, and garden design.

The property set to open in spring 2026, is located at Media Luna, Carretera. 8b, across the Convention Center in Getsemaní, Cartagena’s vibrant, bohemian nighbourhood, just outside the Walled City, known for its colourful street art, lively plaza like Plaza de la Trinidad, street food, energetic nightlife, and rich Afro - Colombian culture, known to be a trendy artistic hub. Visitors can enjoy its murals, unique shops, and the iconic Centenario Park, offering a lively, authentic Cartagena experience.

The hotel feature 131 comfortable guestrooms and suites, including 27 Spanish colonial - style accommodations and 104 contemporary, styllish rooms. Among these are 18 rooms situated around an interior courtyard in the former cloister, a two - bedroom Presidential Suite named the Catroux Suite, and the three – bedroom Casa Ambrad suite with a rooftop plunge pool, and the development also includes 15 private residences.

Dining options at the property feature a collaboration with Major Food Group, offering a bar, a pizzeria, a steakhouse, a casual café, a speakeasy, and a rooftop bar.

Amenities at Four Seasons Hotel and Residences Cartagena include two rooftop pool decks, eight dining and bar venues, and a UMARI spa with six treatment rooms, a hair salon, a 24 - hour fitness centre and mail services.

The establishment provides event space with two ballrooms and three additional meeting rooms, including the Ballroom de la Veracruz in the former Teatro Colón, the Ballroom Centenario in the restored Club Cartagena building and the hotel offers full - property buyouts for events.

Four Seasons Hotel and Residences Cartagena is the company’s third unit in Colombia, joining two locations in the capital of country, Bogotá and it has begun accepting reservations ahead of its planned spring opening.
