1 Hotels, a nature – inspired lifestyle brand launched in 2015, part of Starwood Hotels, an affiliate of global investment firm of Starwood Capital Group headquartered in Miami, Florida, U.S. has revealed the opening of a 211 - room hotel in Tokyo, Japan’ capital and largest city, marking the brand’s debut in the Asian countty.
1 Hotel Tokyo developed in collaboration between 1 Hotels and Mori Trust Co. Ltd., a Japanese real estate developer headquartered in Tokyo, is now open occupying the 38th through 43rd floors of the Akasaka Trust Tower that anchors the Tokyo World Gate Akasaka mixed - use development located at 2 Chome 17 - 22 in Minato City, a central, affluent special ward in Tokyo.
The area is known as a major international hub, housing numerous foreign embassies, corporate headquarters (Honda, Sony), luxurious districts like Rappongi and Aoyama, famous for landmarks such as Tokyo Tower, modern skyscrapers, parks, shrines and offering several dining options.
The hotel’s design was created by the architecture and design studio CRÈME, a Brooklyn 0 based design firm, offering architectural, interior, graphic, and custom furniture design services founded by Jun Aizaki, with interiors incorporate sustainable materials, curated greenery, and locall crafted décor.
The Property features 211 rooms, including 24 suites and three penthouses, with select rooms offering views of the Imperial Palace gardens and the Tokyo skyline.
F&B options at 1 Hotel Tokyo include three venues. NiNi is led by Head Chef Nikko Policarpio is a restaurant offering a menu that blends French Riviera and Japanese cuisine, featuring Provençal herbs, seafood, and dishes such as Maguro Tartare. The restaurant uses a Jasper Grill Oven and offers a seasonal afternoon tea and weekend brunch.
Spotted Stone is a bar focuses on Japanese craft gin, with a collection of nearly 100 varieties. Neighbors Café provides coffee, teas, and food items, including products from the Matcha Tokyo and local businesses.
Wellness facilities include the Banford Wellness Spa, developed in partnership with Carole Banford. The spa offers facial and body treatments incorporating shiatsu, reflexology, acupressure, and other modalities.
Signature treatments include the 1 Hotel Tokyo Experience, Japanese Bamboo Massage, and Green Tea Healing Facial. Additional wellness amenities include The Field House, a 24 - hour fitness space with Technogym equipment and fitness classes, and an indoor pool with access to an outdoor deck.
For meetings and social gatherings, the hotel offers more than 460 square metres of event space, including the Sakura and Camellia rooms, as well as three private dining rooms, all located on the 38th floor. These spaces accommodate meetings and celebrations and feature natural light and views of Tokyo Tower and Tokyo Bay.
The hotel also features the Audi Electric Experience, providing guests with complimentary access to a fully electric Audi Q6 e - tron for city exploration.
The property has achieved CASBEE S certification, Japan’s highest rating for environmental performance. Water conservation measures and refill stations are implemented throughout the hotel to reduce single - use plastics, and reclaimed and local materias are used in construction.
