The Lake Como EDITION Hotel Officially Opened its Doors in Cadenabbia, Italy

The Lake Como EDITION hotel officially opened its doors in Cadenabbia, a small centre part of the comune of Griante, located between the communities of Menaggio and Tremezzo on the west shore of Lake Como in the region Lombardy in northern Italy, a laid - village set around a sheltered bay on the Lario that embodies the essence of Italian charm and natural  beauty.

The hotel opening is the result of the redevelopment of the historic Britannia Excelsior that has undergone a transformation and has reopened as the Lake Como Edition Hotel, accessible via a private dock,  located at Via Regina, 41, hosted in a renovated structure originally built in 1830.

The opening is a collaboration between EDITION,  brand owned by Marriott International,, Omnam Investment Group, a pioneering global real estate with an incisive vision to source and develop distinctive real estate icons headquartered in London, England, UK and Bain Capital, LP, an American private investment firm based in Boston, Massachussets, U.S.

The property was acquired by Bain Capital and Omnam Investment Group in late 2021, through a fund mamaged by Kryalos SGR S.p.A., an investment management company based in Milan, Italy, with work beginning in April 2022.

The project preserved most of the original façade, introduced new drop - off area, reduced the number of rooms to enlarge accommodations, and added a terrace restaurant named Renzo.

The hotel design’s and architecture were led by Neri&Hu and De.Tales. Materials used in the interior include marble from MGS, ceramics from Marazzi, millwork by Extra Ordinario, Pianca and SkillMax, textiles by Kvadrat, Jaipur, and Class Design, and fixtures from Axor and Laufen.

Lighting is provided by MIIC, Flos, and Artemide, while furnishing come from Cassina, Vitra, Zanotta, B&B Italia, Molteni, and Thonet. Outdoor seating is supplied by Talenti and TRIBU.

The property features 148 comfortable guest rooms, suites across seven room types, including two penthouses and accommodations in Villa Gina.

The hotel’s four dining venues include Renzo, a terrace restaurant offering all - day dining with lake views, Cetino, chef Mauro Colagreco’s first restaurant in Italy, serving dishes inspired by lake, sea, and land, The Pool Bar, serving Mediterranean - inspired meals, and the Lobby Bar, offering cocktails and light bites. Some venues are exclusive to hotel guests, while others are open to the public.

Wellness facilities at the hotel are delivered in collaboration with the Longevity Suite. The Longevity SPA includes seven treatment rooms, such as the Iki - Sabi Ritual and Ultimate Biohacking protocol, Finnish and herbal saunas, steam and Turkish baths, a heated indoor pool, a cold plunge, and access to the floating pool which includes a pool bar, lounge, and private dock access for boating excursions.

The property also offers a fitness centre equipped with Technogym equipment, and seasonal programs such as sunrise yoga and guided mountain hikes.

Later this summer, Omnam Design Studio is scheduled to open The Lido, a second pool and lido space with a bar and restaurant, available to both hotel guests and the public.

The property joins the EDITON brand, part of Marriott International, characterized by a blend of luxury and lifestyle, a strong on focus onsophisticated design and unique, localized experiences tailored to each destination.

Key features of EDITION are personalized service, distinct public spaces, high - end dining and bars, and a combination of modern, edgy aesnthetics with local elements. The brand aim to create immersive “special” and unique hotels that go beyond traditional luxury to feel more intimate and authentic.

The project of Lake Como EDITION hotel  was led by Italy Country Manager Yaniv Medalsy, Project Manager Shay Zahari, and Omnam’s global team, with support from Bain’s Capital’s asset management team.

Lake Como EDITION joins other European projects in Omnam’s portfolio, including Rosewood Bauer Venice, Park Hyatt Taormina, Baccarat Hotel Florence, and Four Seasons Puglia.

The hotel opening is part of a larger development strategy by EDITION to expand its presence in key global locations. This opening adds to the brand’s portfolio, which includes hotels in cities such as London, New York, and Tokyo.
