Suzhou, a city renowned for its notable cultural and historical heritage situated in China’s Jiangtsu province near Shanghai, through its Municipal People’s Government and China Daily, the state - owned English – language newspaper, headquartered in Beijing jointly launched on May 18, 2026 “China Bound - Suzhou”an English - language cultural tourism smart platform, offering international visitors a new one - stop gateway to explore the city.   

Suzhou is a centre with a rich cultural and historical heritage, founded in 514 B.C. nicknamed the “Venice of the East” for the presence of various scenic canals and stoned bridges, home to UNESCO World Heritage Sites including the ancient Grand Canal and the famous Classical Gardens of Suzhou,  also highlighted by the presence of stunning ornated pagodas and historical buildings, which all together have contributed to elevate the city’s status as one of the leading tourist destination in China.

The platform accurately designed to enhance visitor experience includes an English – language (http://chinabound.cn/suzhou) website and pages dedicated to the city of Suzhou on Alpay and WeChat mini - programs. Developed to facilitate and optimize international travel, it offers services ranging from travel inspiration and itinerary planning to artificial intelligence assistance, helping international travellers easily enjoy the unique and poetic beauty of Suzhou and the incomparable charm of Jiangnan’s water villages scattered in areas south of the Yangtze River.
