Hilton Worldwide Holdings, Inc. , American multinational hospitality company based in Tysons, Virginia has officially opened a 167 - room Curio by Hilton hotel in Chiang Rai, Thailand’s northernmost city, serving as a vibrant gateway to the mountainous Golden Triangle where Thailand, Laos and Myanmar meet.
Founded in 1262, Chiang Rai is celebrated for its distinctive Lanna culture, misty highlands, and contemporary art installations, highlighted by the surreal, all - white Wat Rong Khun (White Temple) and the magnificent, oceanic – blue Wat Rong Suea Ten (Blue Temple) and the striking 90 - metre - tall white statue of the Goddess of Mercy, often referred to as the “Big Buddha”.
The opening of Kahavadi Chiang Rai , Curio Collection by Hilton marks Hilton’s first property in Northern Thailand and the Curio Collection by Hilton brand debut in Chiang Rai.
