Quito Tourism – Ecuador | South America's Leading City Tourist Board 2024

 

Quito, attractive capital of Ecuador, bustling city at the foot of the Andes at an altitude of 2850 meters built on the foundations of an ancient Inca city and known for its beautiful, preserved colonial center, was protagonist at the World Travel Awards 2024 with Quito Tourism, the capital's Public Tourism Agency, which was awarded as South America's Leading City Tourist Board 2024, triumphing over other tourism offices such as those of Argentina, Brazil, Colombia and Peru.

Quito Turismo had previously been nominated among the candidates with the tourism boards of Buenos Aires, Bogotá, Medellín, Lima, Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Cuenca, then won in the final vote based on recommendations by analysts, experts and professionals in the tourism sector achieving the coveted award in the Leading Office category for the first time.

The municipality of Quito through the Public Tourism Society of the city promotes the destination of the Ecuadorian capital on various fronts of great significance ranging from innovative tourist information, Situr, to marketing, public relations and participation in important international fairs.

Other actions promulgated by Quito Turismo are linked to international meetings and conferences, promotions of itineraries and tours that promote the rurality of the metropolitan district.

Additionally there are other initiatives linked to a vast participatory tourism agenda that has been developed with commitment by various stakeholders in the industrial sector and dissemination through information channels and social networks to present the destination with also a slogan which ranks and promotes Quito as "the most beautiful city in the world".
