Tunisia, the northermost country in the African continent and part of the Maghreb region of North Africa through its authorities has launched an international competition aimed at developing a new digital platform for the application of electronic e-visas.
This initiative is part of the Digital Tunisia 2025 program, the startup ACT law and the national plan, where the country aims to become a leading regional technological up aimed at modernizing and digitizing the country's public services, facilitating the performance of administrative procedures by foreign visitors.
One of the main objectives is to make the visa application process much more accessible and safer, thereby reducing waiting times and essentially simplifying the process for tourists and business travellers.
With this digital e-visa platform, applicants will be able to submit their files online, make payments for the required fees and monitor the progress of the application without having to physically go to embassies or consulates.
The Tunisian authorities expect this contract to be awarded before October 15, 2024 and it is optimistically expected that the digital platform will be up and running in a short time, shortly thereafter.
