Avianca | Strategic Partnership with Marca Pais Colombia to Promote the Country Abroad

 

Avianca S.A, the largest airline in Colombia, the flag carrier of the South American country since 1919, member of Star Alliance headquartred in the Registered Office of Barranquilla and Corporate Base in Bogotá has established a statutory partnership with Marca Pais Colombia organization focused on an initiative that was born with the aim of positioning the positive image of the country abroad highlighting its attractiveness and beauty.

This alliance was guided through the action of ProColombia, gubernamental agency of the Executive Branch of the Government aimed at promoting Colombian exports,international tourism and foreign investments in the country to provide national companies with support and advice for their international trade activities.

This partnership undoubtedly highlights the airline's local identity and its very important role in promoting the South American country to the outside world, reaffirming its commitment to Colombia and consolidating an important milestone in its history.

Avianca sources have confirmed their intention to operate two new direct routes from the country's capital Bogotá to Arauca and Quibdó, undoubtedly two destinations with great tourist potential. 

Arauca is located in the extreme north of the Orinoco basin bordering Venezuela, a destination with a rich historical and cultural heritage with a remarkable presence of stunning mountains and rivers and where the Parque Nacional Natural el Cocuy and the Sierra Nevada del Cocuy.

Quibdó is situated in the Chocó Department stand out in the Pacific Region of Colombia on the Atrato River, one of the most biodiverse territory of the country close by great ecological reserves like the Bebarama lookout to the West.

Avianca's Global Vice President of Communications and Reputation, Carolina Cortés, commented that from the first flight between Barranquilla and Puerto Berrio until today, Avianca has been flying for more than 104 years, always believing and betting on Colombia as a destination.

There is great pride in becoming a Country Brand by reaffirming the commitment and doing everything necessary to fly to Arauca and Quibdó by connecting even more deeply to the attractiveness of Colombia, to the people and opening a door for millions of tourists to learn about the richness and beauty of the country.

ProColombia President Carmen Caballero commented that the fact that Avianca has received the recognition of Country Brand Colombia is undoubtedly a great step that highlights the airline's dedication to the growth and global positioning of the country.

Avianca not only connects Colombian regions and facilitates new opportunities in tourism and business, but it does so with a strong sense of belonging, identity and responsibility towards the nation.

This result represents a reflection of the efforts of thousands of Colombians who with their daily work and commitment strengthen the country's presence in the world.
