Italy | Italcares, New Digital Platform Devoted to Well - Being and Medical Tourism

 

The new digital platform Italcares devoted to well - being and medical tourism has been created, a tool that facilitates access to a wide range of therapies at Italian spas, the first guide to wellness in Italy created by Federterme, the Italian Federation of Thermal Industries and Healing Mineral Waters, a non-profit organization headquartered in Rome.

Co-funded by the Ministry of Tourism, Italcares is the first all – Italian project for the dissemination of medical tourism providing an innovative portal, accessible to both Italian and international citizens allowing the access to a wide and varied range of health and wellness treatments and programmes and at the same time finds the opportunity to promote tourism in the selected destinations and their surroundings.

Italcares is integrated with the Tourism Digital Hub, accessible through a dedicated web platform allowing the entire tourism ecosystem to enhance, integrate and promote its attractions so that it can be made dialogue and made accessible also from the Italia.it portal, digital tourism hub dedicated to the tourism promotion of Italy.

At the moment over 50 Spa facilities, 200 treatments and 20 health programs are registered in the portal, medical tourism in Italy is increasing with a growth rate of 20% per year, registering about 5.000 patients coming from abroad who reach the Italian territory every year for treatments.

The President of Federterme Massimo Caputi commented that Italcares represents the new frontier of medical tourism which, with a mix of avant-garde spa facilities and medical excellence, makes it possible to eliminate the gap with countries such as France, Slovenia and Spain.

The Minister of Tourism Daniela Santanchè  said that this initiative represents an important step to enhance one of the oldest sectors existing in the country and every tourist who comes to Italy for medical treatments represents a tourist who will discover the country.
