United Airlines, Inc., a major airline in the United States of America, founded in 1926, a member of Star Alliance operating an extensive domestic and international route network across the U.S. and all six inhabited continents, headquartered in Chicago - Illinois has recorded the largest international expansion in its history with new flight services operating to eight cities around the world starting from May 2025.
The U.S. airline will launch five new direct flights from Newark Liberty International Airport serving the New York metropolitan area that will see as destinations Bilbao, the largest center of the Basque Country in Spain, Faro, capital of the region Algarve in Portugal, Palermo capital of Sicily in Italy, Madeira Island part of the Atlantic archipelago and autonomous region of Portugal and Nuuk, capital and most populous city in Greenland and autonomous territory in the Kingdom of Denmark.
The other three destinations will be operated with departures from Washington Dulles Airport with non-stop direct flights to Dakar, the capital of Senegal, Nice, renowned city on the French Riviera in France, and Venice, the capital of Veneto in Italy.
United Airlines with a strategic expansion program has highly increased its international capacity with a summer 2025 calendar that will offer more than 760 weekly flights, another historic figure achieved by the airline which is currently first by the number of destinations and the second in terms of revenue and fleet size.
United Airlines, in addition to all those operations, will add new flights in the future from Japan's Tokyo-Narita airport to Mongolia's capital Ulaanbaatar and Kaoshiung City in southern Taiwan, thus becoming the only U.S. airline to serve these Asian destinations, and will also offer a direct flight departing from Tokyo to Koror the state comprising the main commercial centre of the Republic of Palau, all future pathways are subject to government approval.
Senior Vice President Global Planning and Alliances Patrick Quayle said no other airline offers customers non- stop access to as many unique destinations and interpersonal experiences from the United States of America as United Airlines.
United Airlines' network offers the greatest variety and choice for the airline's customers whether they are looking for a relaxing beach holiday, a once-in-a-lifetime adventure trip or enjoying some of the world's most vibrant city breaks.
