El Salvador | Cooperation with China to Develop a New Tourist Pier Enhancing Tourism

 

El Salvador, the smallest country in Central America, corresponding to a rectangle of 200 kilometres south of 100 kilometres, with its litoral façade on the Pacific Ocean boasting pleasant sandy beaches, characterized in its interior by the mountain chain of the Sierra Madre of Chiapas, the Meseta Central which host a large part of the population and the volcanic chain with its 20 volcanoes divided into five groups, land with a rich, historic and cultural heritage inhabited by the ancient civilizations such as the Mayans, Pipils and Lencas will enhance its incoming tourism thanks to cooperation of the People’s Republic of China with the development of a new Tourist Pier located in the centre of La Libertad.

La Libertad is a known port city on the Pacific coast in the southwestern territory of El Salvador, famed for its nearest, stunning beaches and surf breaks as the Punta Roca break, relevant fishing port and it stands out for being one of the most preferred places for leisure and beach for Salvadoran capital residents, due to its proximity and because since the second half of the 19th century it became the closest port to the city of San Salvador.

In 1976 the port was closed to international commercial traffic and this project aims to offer new experiences and a modern infrastructure for all visitors with the purpose to transform this port od La Libertad in a relevant tourist hub.

The development of the tourist pier will be focused to create 200 linear metres intended as a landscape platform for walking and offering views on the Pacific Ocean with the introduction of facilites include a two - level restaurant, a kiosk for drinks, an access bridge to reach the head of the pier with a ramp and steps and where two boat lifts stand out.

The Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China in El Salvador Xhang Yanhhui commented that he hopes this pier will contribute to tourism development and pleased for the achievements of El Salvador under the leadership of President Nayib Bukele.

The Minister of Tourism of El Salvador Morena Valdez, highlighted the construction of this new space aimed at promoting and enhancing economic and tourism development in El Salvador, commenting that this development is what El Salvador wants to continue growing and achieving projects like this one for benefit to all the Salvadorans.
