listed on the London Stock Exchange and the New York Stock Exchange announced
to introduce the first Turkish location of its Vignette Collection, a brand
characterized to be a family of one – off hotels where guests can indulge a
growing passion for stays that are authentic and experiential in
Istanbul’s Union Han Karaköy district in Turley.
The property that is currently owned by Cortex Turizm will open in the second half of 2025 and will be the 16th IHG hotel in Istanbul, a very strong signal of the expansion of IHG’s presence in Turkey bringing the total number of existing and planned properties to 45.
This strategy is also aimed to expand the Vignette Collection, IHG’s luxury conversion brand that is on track to reach 100 accommodations worldwide, contributing to IHG’s extensive luxury and lifestyle portfolio of nearly 900 hotels.
The Vignette Collection brand allows property owners to maintain their hotel’s unique identity, soul and spirit, no change of character offering unique and memorable experiences in distinctive and emblematic destinations.
Linked to that the hotel will support local – non profit organization through the “A Means for Good” initiative.
The Hotel is located in the Karaköy district part of the large urban area of Beyoğlu, one of the most vibrant and lively sectors of Istanbul situated in northern part of the Golden Horn’s mouth on the European side of the Bosphorus, a relevant commercial and cultural hub of the Turkish metropolis highlighted by the presence of several trendy bars, cafes and shops.
Hosted in the historic Tütün building the hotel will feature 51 rooms, a restaurant, an artisan bakery, exclusive wellness facilities including a Spa.
The Vice President of Development in Europe for IHG Hotels & Resorts Willemijn Geels expressed enthusiasm for the brands’s growth and for the credited strong partnership and dedicated teams for the company success in Turkey.
CorteX Turizm also expressed its satisfaction acknowledging the confidence in IHG’s reputation and guest loyalty programs.
Currently, IHG Hotels & Resorts operates 32 hotels in Turkey and has 13 more in development, including the first Garner Hotel near the new International Istanbul Airport and the InterContinental Ankara, both scheduled to open in 2025.
