Vietnam | Proposal Recognising 33 Aritifacts as National Treasures

 

Vietnam, Southeast Asian country located in the east of the Indochinese peninsula, known for its pristine beaches, rivers, rainforests, Buddhist pagodas, bustling cities and towns highlighted by lively markets through its Deputy Prime Minister Lê Thành Long, has recently signed a proposal recognising an additional 33 artifacts as national treasures.

Among the list including these artifacts there are authentic masterpieces such as the Đắk Sơn lithofone, prehistoric instrument recognized as a national Vietnamese treasure, dating back 3.500 - 3.000 years, along with the Vũ Bản bronze drum, ancient artifact found in various cultures in Southeast Asia and southern China and venerated in national folk religion.

Another discovery include a ceramic pot from the Đông Sơh culture also known as Dongsonian culture, a bronze age culture in ancient Vietnam centred at the Red River Valley in the north of the country from 1000 BC until the first century AD, artifacts dating to the 3rd -2nd century BC.

Vietnamese law describes national treasures as being objects extremely precious, boasting a unique value to the country’s historical, cultural or scientific heritage.
