Florida, the southeasternmost U.S. state, with the Atlantic on one side and the Gulf of Mexico on the other, the Sunshine state, theme park epicenter of the world that offers hundreds of miles of sunny beaches, pristine diving conditions, national parks,vibrant cities and sizzling nighlife is experiencing that travellers’ arrival are very close to pre - pandemic levels, a notable achievement in terms of incoming tourism.
This year’s Florida Huddle and Encounter trade shows, held at the World Equestrian Center in Ocala, a city in and the county seat of Marion County, east of downtown, Fort King National Historic Park located in North Central Florida, had more appointments per attendee than in previous year with a in total 629 attendees registered for these professional events, in the case of Florida Huddle the numbers were slighty lower than last year; event which was held in Miami with 217 suppliers, 154 buyers and 19 members of the media but confirming that the American state is still a very demanded destination.
In 2024, the number of international visitors to Florida was 8.86 million compared to 8.31 million in 2023 and 7.02 million on 2022 and between 2014 and 2019, the last normal year before Covid - 19 pandemia the numbers averaged just under 10 million, in 2019 there were 9.80 million visitors, which put last year at approximately 10% of the pre – pandemic level.
The top international markets for Florida in 2024 were reported as :

The Director of Consumer Insights and Analytics that leads the Visit Florida research team, Pewitt Yancey highlighted that Colombia has been one of the great examples of success in terms of visits to Florida in recent years, who also specified that they were a real support for Florida when it comes to international visits.For a couple of years when many of our other source markets had close to zero visitation, they did incredible things for tourism.
