Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group International Limited, a multinational hospitality management group focusing on luxury hotels, resorts and residences founded in 1963 and headquartered in Hong Kong will open a new luxury hotel in Suzhou, China, a major prefecture - level city in southern Jiangsu province part of the Yangtze Delta megalopolis west of Shangai, a relevant economic centre and focal point of trade and commerce with also an ancient history known for its tourist attractions include pagodas, stone bridges, canals and the iconic Classical Gardens added to the list of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in 1997.
The Mandarin Oriental, Suzhou is projected to open in 2026 and this incorporation represents a notable addition which solidifies and strengthens the presence of Mandarin Oriental Hotel underscoring its commitmement to expanding its presence in China’s significant culture, tourism, science and and education in a centre of notable relevance and expanding its portfolio in mainland China in a very important area as the Yangtze River Delta.
The future hotel, will be strategically located on the east bank of Jinji Lake, boasting panoramic views on this fresh water lake located in the central part of Suzhou Industrial Park, one of China’s largest and most successful industrial parks, established in 1994 and spanning an area of 278 square kilometres.
The property designed as a tranquil urban resort will play a key role in the upcoming Central Business District of Suzhou with an easy, direct access to the city's historic heartland and the commercial and retail centre making an ideal destination and choice for both business and leisure travellers.
The hotel is being developed by Suzhou Harmony Development Group Co. Ltd, a subsidiary of Sungent Holdings Group, a large - scale state owned within SIP, Suzhou Industrial Park and a joint venture between China and Singapore in partnership with Hongkong Land a member of the Jardine Matheson Holdings Limited, a Hong Kong based, Bermuda - domicilied British multinational conglomerate with diversified businesses focused principally on Asia.
The Mandarin Oriental, Suzhou will provide 146 comfortable and elegantly designed rooms and suites, with many offering balconies and spectacular views and it will offer a variety of dining experiences, including three restaurants, a lounge, a bar and a cake shop, outdoor dining with lakeside views and settings in landscaped gardens will be a special feature.
The establishment will provide other facilities and amenities such as a well – equipped fitness centre, the group’s award - winning spa therapies, an indoor swimming pool, meeting and event spaces ensuring suitability for business and social gatherings and a Children’s Club will cater to families.
