Quintana Roo, Mexican state located on the eastern part of the Yucatán Peninsula facing the Caribbean Sea, well known for the several ruins and archaeological sites linked to the Maya civilization having as main economic activity the tourism, with many demanded tourist destinations such as Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Isla Mujeres, the island of Cozumel, Bacalar and Akumal through the Governor of the state, Mara Lezama announced that will strengthen its status as a top world tourist centre adding 25.000 new hotel rooms.
The Governor held a meeting with Mark Hoplmaizan, CEO and President of Hyatt Hotels, important American multinational hotel company based in Chicago, Illinois and with the Executive Vice President Encarna Piñero, CEO of Grupo Piñero, relevant group dedicated to hospitality and tourism services headquartered in Palma de Mallorca, Spain reaching a historic agreement within the framework of the last FITUR, Tourism Trade Fair which took place in Madrid, Spain, which will allow the construction of up to 25.000 new hotel rooms in Quintana Roo.
The new collaboration with two world – leading hotel chains underscores the state government's continued commitment to fostering sustainable development, ensuring that tourism growth benefits the entire population, both socially and economically.
The Governor described the new agreement as a strategic alliance that will enhance the region's destination, which will result in an increase of up 30% in hotel reservations, elevating Quintana Roo's status as anj undisputed leader of tourism at an international level, a pact that reflects the Mexican state government dedication to strengthening, international strategic alliances and attracting investment to boost economic growth and prosperity in Quintana Roo.
