IHG Hotels & Resorts, British multinational hospitality company headquartered in Windsor, Berkshire, England, UK, has announced to have signed a franchise agreement to open a new Garner hotel in in Kutch, a district of Gujarat state in western India, famous for the vast salt desert of the Rann of Kutch, renowned for its stunning landscapes and unique wildlife, an area with a relevant cultural heritage also well known for its handicrafts, including intricate embroidery and beautiful pottery.
The agreement was signed with Royal Buildspace LLP, a leading player in Kutch real estate industry and travel accommodation sector, and this development is the third signing for the Garner brand in India following its recent launch in the region.
The property will be managed by Rosastays, a preferred third - party operator for IHG Hotels and Resorts in India, a company headquartered in New Dehli specializing in handpick boutique home retreats offering curated lifestyle experiences.
With this agreement Rosastays will also manage two other Garner hotels in India, located in Etawah, a city in the state of Uttar Pradesh, and Kathua, a centre situated in the Kashmir region, which are scheduled to open in 2026 and 2027, respectively.
The signing aligns with IHG Hotels & Resorts strategy to expand its portfolio in secondary and tertiary markets in India, where demand for midscale hotels is notably increasing.
The hotel is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2026 and will enter in the Garner Hotel brand focused on offering quality, affordable stays for conscious travellers. Garner is a midscale conversion brand, meaning it converts existing hotels into Garner brand and it is well known to provide a relaxed and flexible experience with essentials like convenient locations, a sound night’s sleep, and a complimentary hot breakfast.
The Garner Kutch will be located in Gujarat’s largest district by area, approximately 6 kilometres from the DP World Special Economic Zone, an area that is part of a project with notable investments to develop maritime and logistic infrastructure in the state focusing on terminals, economic zones and ports, which is expected to enhance commercial activity in the region.
The hotel will aim to serve business travellers, professionals, and tourists visiting the area and will feature 40 comfortable and functional rooms, an all - day dining restaurant, a swimming pool, a fitness centre, a spa, and meeting spaces.
HIG Hotels & Resorts continues its expansion in India where currently operates 50 hotels across six brands and has a pipeline of 63 hotels set to open in the next three to five years.
