IHG Hotels & Resorts, British multinational hospitality company based in Windsor, Berkshire, England, UK has officially opened a new InterContinental Resort in Ha Long Bay within Quảng Ninh, a coastal province in northeast Vietnam, a destination famous for its spectacular seascape of thousands of limestone karsts islands and islets topped by rainforests rising from emerald waters, its status as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and activities like cruising, kayaking, and exploring caves, and for its unique floating village and a rich history.
The resort is located at Marina Urban Area, Peninsula 3 in Ha Long, a lively centre on Vietnam northern coast, nestled in Ha Long Bay’s UNESCO World Heritage, 5 - minute drive of Halong Bay Marina and just 2 hours from Hanoi and Noi Bai Airport.
The architectural design of the resort was led by WATG, a global integrated design firm specializing in advisory, master planning, architecture, landscape, and interior design based in London, England, UK, incorporating elements that reflect the cultural heritage and natural landscape of Ha Long Bay.
Interior design by P49Deesign, an award winning hospitality interior specialist headquartered in Bangkok, Thailand takes inspiration from local traditions, such as Vietnam’s bamboo basket boats, and feature colours and texture reminiscent of the surrounding marine environment.
This beachfront sanctuary features 275 comfortable rooms, suites, and villas and six dining venues, with two signature restaurants.
Dining establishments currently open include Marina Kitchen, La Baguette, Del Mar and Vine, each offering distinct culinary experiences, while Roku & Star Bar, set to open later this year, will offer Japanese cuisine and a curated Sake Library.
The resort’s spa, Hidden Lagoon, offers wellness treatments in collaboration with British and Australian beauty brands.
Amenities also include three swimming pool, the Planet Trekkers kid’s club which provides for children aged 4 to 12, the Game Room, offering entertainment options for teens and families, and recreation facilities include beach volleyball and outdoor archery.
Event spaces within InterContinental Halong Bay Resort by IHG include the Tonkin Ballroom and Cat Ba Ballroom, suitable for various gatherings.
The opening of InterContinental Halong Bay Resort by IHG is part of a broader strategy to expand the InterContinental brand’s presence globally, with the company currently operating over 231 hotels worldwide, including seven in Vietnam.
