The United Arab Emirates has announced a $6 billion investment plan for Africa’s travel and hospitality sector, an initiative unveiled at the UAE Africa Tourism Investment Summit 2025 which took place in Dubai on 6th November 2025, an event organised by the UAE Ministry of Economy and Tourism in partnership with the Bench as part of Future Hospitality Summit (FHS) World 2025.
The summit brought together senior government officials, investors, and industry leaders to chart investment priorities and explore opportunities across tourism and infrastructure under the theme “Building Bridges for Sustainable Growth”.
This move was presented by Minister of Economy and Tourism of the United Arab Emirates H.E. Abdulla bin Touq Al Almarri, an initiative targets projects across aviation, logistics, infrastructure and digital innovation, and is expected to generate around 70.000 jobs as the African continent records the fastest tourism growth globally.
A ministerial roundtable with representatives from more than 20 African countries concluded with a joint statement prioritising improved tourism infrastructure, expanded air connectivity and green, inclusive growth with SME support.
The summit also set the stage for Future Hospitality Summit Africa 2026, where industry stakeholders are expected to translate the plan into further concrete deals and partnerships.
