LXR Hotels & Resorts, a collection of unique, independent luxury hotels within Hilton’s portfolio, American multinational hospitality company based in Tysons, Virginia, focusing on personalized service and authentic local experience in intriguing global destinations, offering curated adventures and a blend of historic charm with modern luxury for discerning travellers, unveiled the upcoming opening of a resort in Kamari, a popular beach resort village on the volcanic island of Santorini, Greece.
Kamari is famous for its unique black pebble beach, lively promenade, watersports, and proximity to ancient ruins. It’s a well - developed destination offering shops, restaurants, an open - air cinema, and close access to the archaeological site of Ancient Thera and the airport, making it a convenient and picturesque Greeek island escape.
The Sandblu Santorini is scheduled to begin operations in the summer of 2026 and this development in partnership with RMKA Private Company marks the debut of the LXR Hotels & Resorts brand in Greece.
The resort will be located on the eastern coast of the Hellenic island, near Kamari Beach, providing access to hiking trails leading to the historical site of Ancient Thira, built on the top of Mesa Vouno Mountain, a very important hub in the old Santorini that hosted a great and thriving, ancient civilization. The location is a short distance from Santorini International Airport and the port, facilitating travel connections to European cities and Cycladic islands.
The property will feature 66 comfortable accommodations, suites and three villas designed for privacy. Of these accommodations, 29 will include private pools.
This Cycladic sanctuary is designed to integrate indoor and outdoor living spaces, with each room providing access to a private terrace with views of either the pool or the Aegean SDea.
Amenities at Sandblu Santorini will include two restaurants, a wine bar, a wine cellar, a bakery, two infinity pools, a spa, a fitness centre, a kids club, retail spaces, and a beach area.
This project is part of LXR Hotels & Resorts’ expansion strategy, which includes nearly 40 properties operating or under development globally. The brand recently opened SAX Paris in France and plans further developments in Europe.
