Marriott International, American multinational hospitality company headquartered in Bethesda, Maryland has announced the signing of agreements to open 100 City Express by Marriott properties in the United States and Canada with six already opened in 2025 and four more expected by year - end.
This major development comes as the company continues to expand its midscale hotel offerings in key markets across North America with a performing brand like City Express, a midscale, conversion - friendly hotel brand focused on convenience, comfort and value, positioned as a quality, budget - friendly option within Marriott portfolio.
In 2025, six City Express by Marriott properties have already opened, with an an additional four expected to open by year end, an expansion that reflects the growing demand for midscale lotel in the North American region.
The City Express is a hotel brand that originated in Mexico and the Caribbean/Latin America (CALA) region, created for providing affordable lodging. Marriott International acquired the brand portfolio in 2023 with the first U.S location opening in Georgia in March 2025, and is now expanding it globally. Recently Marriott announced plans to bring the brand to Asia Pacific region, excluding China, with two properties planned for Osaka, Japan.
The latest signings in the United States and Canada include several properties in strategic locations.One of them of them is the City Express by Marriott Kissimee, near Orlando, Florida, a property featuring 197 rooms and providing easy access to local attractions and entertainment venues.
Another hotel part of this major operation is the City Express by Marriott Dulles, located near Dulles Airport and close to Washington, D.C., that will undergo a complete renovation before joining the brand, featuring 90 rooms.
In Texas, the City Express by Marriott Amarillo will serve the TexasPanhandle market featuring 73 rooms, a property accurately designed for catering to road - trip and regional travellers, while the City Express by Marriott Sandusky, located near Lake Erie, will provide 50 rooms and be close to family attractions, including water and amusement parks.
Also in the state of Nevada the brand will have its presence with the City Express by Marriott Carson City that will offer 86 rooms, providing convenient access to business and leisure destinations in the state capital and across the region.
Marriott’s strategy focuses on expanding City Express by Marriott brand in well - connected markets offering accommodations with amenities suitable for both business and leisure travellers seeking for a comfortable and affordable stay in key destinations.
This major expansion is part of Marriott International’s broader strategy to scale its regional brands and achieve global reach, further integrating the City Express brand into its portfolio and loyalty platform, Marriott Bonvoy and at the same time enhancing its presence in the North American markets.
