Minor Hotels, an international operator, investor and owner in the hospitality industry founded in 1978 and based in Bangkok, Thailand has unveiled the development of a NH Collection resort on Pemba Island, part of Tanzania’s Zanzibar Archipelago, off the coast of East Africa, famous for its pristine, empty white - sandy beaches, the coral rich Pemba Channel, world - class diving in the deep, lush green hills and clove plantations.
NH Collection Pemba Island Resort will be developed in partnership with Infinity Developments ,a dynamic and visionary real estate group shaping exquisite living experiences across Dubai, UAE and Africa.
The signing of this property follows the collaboration between Minor Hotels and Infinity Developments on the Anantara Zanzibar Resort & Residences which is currently under construction.
The project aims to maintain the island’s exclusive and low - impact tourism character, and the NH Collection Pemba Island Resort will be the first property under the NH Collection brand into the Zanzibar archipelago.
With an opening planned for February 2030 the resort will be located a short drive from Pemba Airport, approximately 7 kilometres southeast of Chake - Chake, the capital of the island, and is designed to provide access from both Zanzibar and Dar es Salaam.
The property will feature 145 keys comprising guestrooms, suites, villas, multiple dining outlets and meeting, incentive, conference, and event (MICE) spaces.
The resort will join will join the NH Collection brand, part of Minor Hotels that operates over 100 hotels and resorts in 25 countries. NH Collection is an upper brand that focuses on providing “extraordinary” experiences through a combination of premium services, unique locations, and a focus on details.
Key features of the brand include elegant design within authentic landmark buildings, a commitment to surprising guests with unexpected touches, and services that cater to both business and leisure travellers, such as gourmet food options and high - quality room amenities. The brand aims to blend local identity with comfort and innovation to create memorable moments for its guests.
